Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, store and disclose your personal and credit information — and how you can access it, correct it, or raise a concern.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to Capital Finder (ABN 94 691 029 893). Ms Qi-ting (Lisa) Shen is a credit representative (Credit Representative Number 524535) of Finsure Finance & Insurance Pty Ltd (Australian Credit Licence 384704), which holds the credit licence under which we provide credit assistance.

We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and Part IIIA of the Privacy Act as it applies to credit-related information.

2. Why we collect your information

We collect personal and financial information about you in order to provide our broking services: to assess your circumstances, provide credit assistance, submit applications to lenders on your behalf, and meet our obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may be unable to assist in arranging finance or providing other services.

3. What we collect

Depending on the service, this may include your name and contact details, identification documents, employment and income details, assets, liabilities and living expenses, and credit-related information such as repayment history and credit reports obtained from credit reporting bodies.

4. How we collect it

Usually directly from you — in meetings, by phone, through forms on this website, and from documents you provide. With your consent we may also collect information from credit reporting bodies, your employer, accountant or superannuation provider, your existing lenders, and organisations providing online identity verification.

5. Who we share it with

The information you provide is held by us and by our licensee. We may exchange it with the following types of entities, some of which are located overseas:

  • Persons who provide finance or other products to you, or to whom an application has been made for those products
  • Financial consultants, accountants, lawyers and advisers
  • Any industry body, tribunal or court in connection with a complaint about our services
  • Any person where we are required by law to do so
  • Our associates, related entities, contractors and outsourcing partners — some of which are located in the Philippines
  • Persons who verify information you have provided, such as your employer, accountant or superannuation provider
  • Any person considering acquiring an interest in our business or assets
  • Any organisation providing online verification of your identity

6. Storage and security

Your information is held in secure, access-controlled systems operated by us and by our licensee, and is only accessible to people who need it to provide our services. Records relating to credit assistance — including the preliminary assessment we prepare for you — are retained for at least seven years, as required under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

Where we no longer need your information and are not required to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it. If you would like more detail about how your information is stored, contact us and we will explain.

7. Website enquiries and marketing

When you submit an enquiry or request a download through this website, we use those details to respond to you and to send the material you asked for. We may also send you information about services we believe are relevant, such as loan review reminders. You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.

This website uses no third-party advertising or analytics tracking. The only external service it loads is the booking calendar, and only after you choose to open it.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us at Lisa@capfinder.com.au or 0433 668 832. You can also contact us for a copy of the licensee’s privacy policy, which is available at finsure.com.au.

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first, or the licensee’s Complaints Manager at complaints@finsure.com.au. We aim to resolve complaints within five business days, and will keep you updated if it will take longer.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Australian Financial Complaints Authority on 1800 931 678 or www.afca.org.au, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page. Last updated: August 2026.
